NYC Marathon Training Week 9

Another week over 30 miles- finally! Now I just need to stay consistent.  I ran 31.5 for the week.  A few things bothering me- my left hamstring and my right calf but nothing too serious.  Nothing I can't run through.  I ran outside 2 times this week and the treadmill twice.  Did my long run on Friday and then took Saturday and Sunday off.  I could have run Sunday but by the time I wanted to it was already 90+ degrees out.  Plus four days of running a week is enough for me!

  1. Woo-hoo. I had a 31 mile week myself and was quite happy with it (but it took me 5 runs to get it in). Congrats on the 16 miles. Shew!!! Soon I'll have to do that, but my body isn't quite ready.

  2. Yay, go you! What a great week of training :) I can't run more than 4 days/ week either.

I really hope your minor injuries go away soon. I hate those little nags b/c I always worry that they'll turn into something more serious.

  3. I miss running along the Charles! I logged a lot of miles along that river -- trained for my first marathon there.

Congrats on the 16 miles AND the 31 mile week! :) Hope your hamstring and calf stop bothering you soon.

  4. I've been looking at my mileage as it peaks and I seem to be staying in the 30's. I keep wondering if I should be running more, but four days seems to be where I max out at this point. Nice job on the speedwork!
