Healthy Dinners, Top Five Baby Items & Giveaway Winner!

Remember the food part of Food to Run For? Well, I fully expected that having a baby would make it nearly impossible to cook.  I even froze a bunch of meals in preparation for the baby.  Well, the truth is not only have I been eating great dinners, but I've been able to cook quite a bit!  Sure I'm not making anything complicated.  But I'm proof that you can eat healthy, delicious meals even with a one month baby.  Yes, Dylan is 1 MONTH tomorrow!
Oops, how did that picture get on here?  Sorry I couldn't resist!

Dinners on rotation:
Lemon Pepper Trout with Assorted Roasted Vegetables
Mixed Green Salads- this one had strawberries, sugar glazed pecans and goat cheese
Cajun Spiced Salmon with Red Pepper Flakes Kale Chips and Spicy Bulgar Wheat
(In the back): Teriyaki Steak Tips with Avocado Salsa
Lobster, Caesar Salad, Watermelon Salad and Corn
Chicken and Steak Tips Kabobs with various grilled veggies
Bulgar Wheat Salad with Salmon, Kale, Peppers, Dried Cranberries and Goat Cheese
All of these meals take no time at all to make and we've enjoyed them so much!

Moving on...
As I mentioned, Dylan is {almost} One Month.  So I thought I'd post on the baby products that we wouldn't have survived without.  Maybe some of you are pregnant.  Maybe you have a baby shower coming up.  These are the items that are NECESSITIES {in my opinion} in the first month.

1. Pampers Swaddlers.
There is a line that turns from yellow to blue when he needs to be changed.  And the fit is so perfect!
2. My Breast Friend.
I would not have been able to nurse without this.  I still can't imagine how I will nurse without it!
PS- Boppy's don't work for me
3. Mam Pacifiers.
The design on these stay so much better than any other brand I've tried.
4. iPad.
Okay, maybe you don't NEED this, but you need something to look at/do during the middle of the night feedings.  I play Scramble- play me!
5. Rock N Play Sleeper.
This thing is like $60 bucks and is the best product we own.  It folds up so easily, it's so portable and Dylan LOVES it.  He naps in it, and we bring it with us whenever we go anywhere for an extended period of time.

There are other items I love, but these are definitely my top five!

Oh, one other thing... GIVEAWAY Winner!
Shannon!  You lucky duck!  Email me and let me know which one you'd rather- the Zico or the Chews!

What's your favorite healthy quick meal to make?
If you're a mom, what was your favorite item in the first month?

  9. When I'm lazy, I usually toss whatever veggies I have and makea quite vinaigrette for a dinner salad. Or I'll roast a bunch of veggies, tossed together with olive oil and seasoning.

  10. Agree w/ you on the Swaddlers! They were the only ones that really fit Wyatt. But once he was around 5mos and he started rolling constantly, they started leaking. So we moved on to Cruisers :)
