Us Crazy Runners... & Thoughts for Thursday

Yesterday I emailed my friend Adrienne. Adrienne ran the last 6+ miles with me at my first marathon.
AR and I have actually only met twice, but I feel like she is an old friend.  (She works with my BFF Courtney). She is an absolutely AMAZING athlete who finished  Boston this year in 3:36:15. She also loves helping other people fall as much in love with running as she has (she runs a running program at her local rec department).  She is also so unselfish and only competitive with herself (not others).  I think all of us could learn to be more like AR, especially me! Anyway, she recently announced on her blog that she is expecting her first baby!  I emailed her to ask how she is doing- see below-

Thanks Liz!  I am due January 19th…. The question then becomes, can I do a marathon on three months of training???

Umm, can everyone see what she wrote? Only us runners would contemplate something like this and I LOVE IT! So yes AR, I say go for it.  Run Boston in 2011 and who knows, maybe I'll join you!

On another completely random note- I thought of more things to add to my list I thought you guys might enjoy.  I know it was only supposed to be 10 but maybe I will add to the list from time to time. So here they are!

I used to walk in to people all the time.  Like when you're walking one direction and a bunch of people are walking towards you? Yep, I used to bump into like everyone.  Then one day my friend from work Joel told me that if you don't look at people as you walk, you won't walk into anyone. Try it.  If you just walk forward and not meet anyones eyes then people will get out of YOUR way.  Amazing.

One time another friend from work Chuck told me that I'm "the most immature mature person he's ever met." I seriously think thats absolutely perfect!

  1. So great for your friend! Maybe you could update us with her ability to run throughout her pregnancy? I am always soooo curious if runners are able to maintain a training schedule while pregnant!
